"I had to cut the top aluminium top plate of the socket to fit the entire valve+socket assembly into the chassis. I getterd the tube prior to apply high voltage and RF and no arcs were produced." "Now it delivers around 1200 watts on 80 meters band with 80 watts input, > 700ma anode current and 300ma of cathode [grid] current and anodic voltage is > around 2.5Kv; Idle current is 120ma with 30V applied on cathode." "The anode voltage is 3.2Kv that decreases to about 2500-2700 under load." "At the beginning the tube seemed to me that was a little hard to drive ( 70w in 500w out) after a few hours of work and warming very well the tube, the power increased to the actual values. Yes, more time you run the tube and more power will be delivered." "I normally run the tube with 50 watts in and 800 out (the power is measured with my model 43 Bird wattmeter in antenna)".
